What to expect
Patients receiving physical, occupational, or speech therapy will be seen one-on-one by a licensed therapist. Your therapist will evaluate your present condition and, if necessary, identify the source of your pain or dysfunction through a comprehensive medical screening and a thorough review of the body's nervous, muscular, and skeletal systems.
After your initial evaluation, your therapist will develop a customized treatment program that will address your specific functional deficits that may include therapeutic exercise, hands-on therapeutic techniques, muscular retraining, cognitive skills training, modalities such as electrical stimulation, spinal decompression, job-specific skills training, or sports-specific skills training. You will likely be asked to perform a home exercise program or home follow-up techniques to ensure continued progress towards your goals. Your therapist will plan, implement, and monitor your progress throughout the treatment program.
The initial evaluation typically lasts 45-60 minutes. Subsequent appointments are scheduled for approximately 30-45 minutes. It is encouraged to arrive early to each appointment to ensure an efficient flow of patients through our clinic. If you are unable to keep an appointment, it is greatly appreciated to give as much notice as possible to allow additional patients to be seen.
Our rehabilitation services staff specializes in comprehensive care of patients experiencing a wide variety of orthopaedic, neurological and cardiovascular issues that can result in functional deficits and poor quality of life.
The breadth of knowledge, specialized treatment approaches, and state-of-the-art facilities are all here in our brand new facility adjacent to the office of Wabash General Hospital Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine at 1527 College Drive in Mt.
