WGH Rehabilitation Services exists to provide the Mount Carmel and surrounding communities with high quality, cost-effective physical, occupation, speech, cardiac rehabilitation, and athletic training services. Our therapists are widely experienced in a variety of treatment settings with particular expertise in outpatient orthopaedics and post-operative orthopaedic surgery recovery.

Our new facility adjacent to the new Medical Office Building at 1527 College Drive offers state of the art equipment, nearly twice the space of our previous facility, and boasts 5 private treatment rooms and 5 semi-private treatment areas.

We also have therapists who specialize in dizziness / balance disorders, benign positional vertigo, lymphedema management, headache/migraine pain, spinal manipulation, pain management, and sport-specific training.

We believe in a patient-centered approach. Our patients appreciate 30 minute to one hour evaluations and customized therapy treatment plans. Also, our treatment model is "evidence-based". This means that our therapists are up-to-date on the latest evidence for specific patient presentations based on peer-reviewed publications of leading research organizations like the American Physical Therapy Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic and Manual Physical Therapists, and the American Occupational Therapy Association. We believe our patient's outcomes improve by integrating evidence and experience into each treatment. Above all, we are caring individuals, passionate about your health, mobility, and quality of life. Please let us know how we can help you move better and feel better.

Your First Visit
Please make plans to arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to complete your new patient paperwork. You can download all new patient forms under the Patient Forms tab. Paperwork includes information about your past medical history, current functional deficits and abilities, as well as information pertaining to your present condition. For your first visit, be sure to:

Bring your insurance card(s)
Bring a photo identification card
Bring your prescription for therapy
Wear comfortable clothes and clothes that allow access to the region of the body being treated.

What to expect
Patients receiving physical, occupational, or speech therapy will be seen one-on-one by a licensed therapist. Your therapist will evaluate your present condition and, if necessary, identify the source of your pain or dysfunction through a comprehensive medical screening and a thorough review of the body's nervous, muscular, and skeletal systems.

After your initial evaluation, your therapist will develop a customized treatment program that will address your specific functional deficits that may include therapeutic exercise, hands-on therapeutic techniques, muscular retraining, cognitive skills training, modalities such as electrical stimulation, spinal decompression, job-specific skills training, or sports-specific skills training. You will likely be asked to perform a home exercise program or home follow-up techniques to ensure continued progress towards your goals. Your therapist will plan, implement, and monitor your progress throughout the treatment program.

The initial evaluation typically lasts 45-60 minutes. Subsequent appointments are scheduled for approximately 30-45 minutes. It is encouraged to arrive early to each appointment to ensure an efficient flow of patients through our clinic. If you are unable to keep an appointment, it is greatly appreciated to give as much notice as possible to allow additional patients to be seen.
