Dr. Selby joined our team at Wabash General Hospital in 2016. He is a native of Olney, Illinois. He currently resides in Fort Branch, Indiana, with his wife, Caryn, and their son, Nathaniel.

Dr. Richard Oppeltz, his wife Elisa, and their four children reside in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Dr. Oppeltz is a native from Venezuela, where he was born, attended medical school at Universidad Central de Venezuela and did a General Surgery residency. In 2007, Dr. Oppeltz and his family moved to San Antonio, Texas, where he completed his residency in General Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. During that time, he spent two additional years doing research, publishing the results, and earning a Master’s degree in Clinical Investigation. Narendra H. Anadkat, MD resides in Mt. Carmel with his wife, Patricia. He has been providing healthcare to his community since 1981. Dr. Anadkat received his premedical degree at Bahauddin College of Science in Gujarat, India. He attended Saurashtra University & M.P. Shah Medical School in Gujarat, Indiab where he received his medical degree. Dr. Anadkat completed his flexible internship at Lutheran Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri, and completed his straight internship at St. Mary’s Health Center in St. Louis, Missouri. He then finished his residency at Internal Medicine Marshall University Affiliated Hospitals in Beckley, West Virginia. Dr. Jani has been providing healthcare in Mt. Carmel since 1984. He is board certified in the fields of internal medicine, geriatric medicine, critical care, and sleep medicine. Dr. Jani provides healthcare in his office and is the director of our sleep lab at Wabash General Hospital.
Dr. Jani graduated from Gujarat University in India with his undergraduate degree, and then completed his medical school at N.H.L. Municipal Medical College in Ahmedabad, India in 1979. He then went on to finish his internship at the Mt. Vernon Hospital in Mt. Vernon, New York in 1981. Dr. Jani then completed his residency in 1983 at Easton Hospital in Easton, Pennsylvania. Dr. Jani is a fellow of American College of Physicians, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and Illinois Medical Society.

Dr. Jennings and his wife, Evelyn, reside in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Dr. Jennings has been providing healthcare for his community since 1984 when he opened his own practice. When he is not providing healthcare, Dr. Jennings enjoys golfing, spending time with his family and grandchildren, and University of Illinois sports.
Dr. Jennings completed his Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois in 1976. He then went on to complete his medical degree in 1980 from the University of Illinois School of Medicine. After graduating with his medical degree, Dr. Jennings completed his internship and residency at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois, where he was chief resident from 1983-1984.
Dr. Lawrence Jennings is board certified in internal medicine. Ketan C. Vyas, M.D., has been providing healthcare to his community in Grayville, Illinois since 1996. He is a primary care physician that treats many acute and chronic illnesses. He performs routine physical exams, wellness examinations, and performs minor surgical procedures. Dr. Vyas attended pre-medical school at Shardamandir in Gujarat, India. After his graduation from Shardamandir, he attended N.H.L. Municipal Medical College in Gujarat, India where he graduated with a Bachelor of Medical and Bachelor of Surgery in March of 1989. Julia joined WGH in 2015. She received her Bachelor of Science in Community Health with a minor in Athletic Training from Eastern Illinois University prior to receiving her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Southern Illinois University.

Diane DeStefano is a nurse practitioner that treats acute problems, manages chronic illnesses, performs routine physical exams, and has extensive experience in management of acutely and chronically ill cardiovascular patients. She has a background in intensive care, critical care, open heart surgery, case management, and cardiac nursing.
Diane received her Associate Degree in Nursing in 1985 from Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. After that, she became employed through Wabash General Hospital as a Registered Nurse for 22 years. She then attended the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Indiana to complete a RN to Masters Program. From there, she decided to attend Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana to finish her RNBS Completion Program. In 2011, Diane graduated from the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program from University of Southern Indiana with her Masters in Nursing. She is an associate member of the American College of Cardiology and the Preventative Cardiovascular Nurses Association. She is also Board Certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center

Chelsea Hon, PA-C, has been a physician assistant for the Wabash General Orthopaedic Department since 2007. Chelsea resides in rural Edwards County, Illinois, along with her husband Kyle, and their son. Chelsea sees patients for pre-operation, post-operation, and follow-up appointments. She also assists Dr. Fullop during surgical procedures. Chelsea attended Newman University in Wichita, Kansas, and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Biology. Alicia is a physician assistant at Dr. Jani’s office and has been treating patients there since 2004. Alicia and her husband both reside in Fairfield, Illinois. She has four children and three grandchildren. She also treats patients in our Convenient Care Clinic after hours.
Alicia received both her undergraduate and Masters Degree from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in Carbondale, Illinois. She is a member of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), and she is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Alicia also teaches Human Anatomy and Physiology for Frontier Community College. She and Dr. Jani are preceptors for physician assistant students for the physician assistant program at SIU-Carbondale.

Jenna Kintner, FNP-C, joined WGH in April of 2017. Jenna received her Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from Olney Central College in 2007. She continued her education at Chamberlain College of Nursing and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and then received her Master of Science Degree in Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Cincinnati.

Mt. Carmel native, Clay Walker, MSPA, PA-C, started working for Wabash General Hospital in September 2016. He completed his Associate of Science degree in Biological Sciences at Wabash Valley College. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and was on the President's List all four semesters. In 2013, he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. Kayla Wilcox, MSPA, PA-C joined WGH’s orthopaedic and sports medicine team in October, 2016. In May of 2014, Kayla completed her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana with her major in Natural Resources and Environmental Science and minor in Soil Science. Kayla was on the Dean’s List and received various awards during her undergraduate studies. Dr. Herman Reid III graduated from Temple Medical School in Philadelphia, PA in 1978. His residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology was also completed at Temple University Hospital. In December 1984, Dr. Reid was board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In December 1985, he became a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He was awarded an American Medical Association Physicians Recognition Award with commendation for self direct learning.
In 1985, Dr. Reid began a solo private practice in Philadelphia. He was on active privileges in departments of OB/GYN at Temple University Hospital and Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. He is also Assistant Clinical Professor of OB/GYN at Temple University Medical School.

In September, 2016, Dr. Catherine Soldo joined WGH's laboratory department through Associated Pathologists located out of Brentwood, Tennessee. Dr. Soldo serves as the Medical Director of the Laboratory and overseas the day-to-day operation of the lab.

Dr. Muhammad Habib completed his medical school at Nishtar Medical College in Pakistan before completing an internship in internal medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Karsten Slater, his wife Brooke, and their three children reside in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Dr. Slater started practicing in 2012 as a primary care sports medicine provider for the Orthopaedic Department at Wabash General Hospital. Dr. Slater manages non-surgical musculoskeletal injuries and complaints. He also provides sports medicine coverage for the local high school and collegiate athletes in the Southeastern Illinois region. He graduated with his Doctor of Medicine degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. In 2011, he completed his residency from Deaconess Family Medicine Residency. From 2011 to 2012, Dr. Slater attended Southern Illinois University Sports Medicine Fellowship in Carbondale, Illinois.
Caryn Selby, PA-C is WGH's Employee Wellness Physician Assistant. She assists with the development, design, and implemenation of a wellness program to positively impact the health and wellness of our employees and Wabash General Hospital. Caryn graduated Magna Cum Laude with her bachelor of science degree in Biological Sciences in May of 2010 from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She then completed her Master's of Science degree in Physician Assistant studies in August 2012.
