Wabash General Hospital offers general and specialty surgical services, including orthopaedic, gynecological, breast, and digestive system procedures. Our highly skilled surgeons use laparoscopic or traditional open surgery techniques based on the patient’s situation. We are supported by a team of nurses and surgical professionals with specialized training. Together, our team will address your specific need with exceptional care and compassion.
Our surgeons are trained to do:
Staffed by specially trained registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nursing assistants, the Post-Surgery Care Unit at Wabash General Hospital serves as a place of healing for patients recovering from injury, illness, or surgery. The 25-bed unit consists of private and semi-private patient rooms, and a 2-bed Monitored Care Unit for patients requiring a higher level of care.
Our physicians, including specialty doctors, work directly with your healthcare team to make sure you receive high-quality medical care in a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. We also make sure you have a discharge plan suited to your needs. That may include scheduling appointments with outpatient therapy services or transfer to our Swing Bed Program.
After an inpatient hospital stay, you might need to start or continue taking medications at home. Because understanding medications can be overwhelming or confusing, Wabash General Hospital developed the Medication Management Program in partnership with Sheldon's Pharmacy to make the transition to home easier for patients.
The Medication Management Program allows Sheldon's Pharmacy to work with inpatients at Wabash General Hospital before they leave the hospital. Before your discharge (Monday through Friday), your prescriptions will be delivered straight to your hospital bed. You will also have the opportunity to consult with one of Sheldon's knowledgeable pharmacists to ask questions and get clarification about your medications.
