Wabash General Hospital Welcomes Dr. Eva Lehtonen in Fall of 2025

Wabash General Hospital and the Wabash General Hospital Foundation are pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Eva Lehtonen to the Medical School Scholarship Program. This addition makes a total of seventeen scholarship students who will be joining Wabash General Hospital as physicians after their training is completed.

Dr. Lehtonen is in her Sports Orthopaedic Fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Lehtonen has recently completed her residency in Orthopaedics and Surgery at Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education in Rochester, Minnesota. A fun fact about Dr. Lehtonen is she swam in a long-distance freestyle double at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Dr. Lehtonen will focus on shoulder replacements and upper extremities when she joins the WGH Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Team in the Fall of 2025.

The WGH Foundation Medical Student Scholarship Program is designed to help medical students financially while they are in school and when they graduate. This program is a tremendous opportunity for the student and their family. These students can keep all their focus on learning and bringing back new, innovative skills to our community. If you know of a student who would be interested in WGH’s Medical Student Scholarship Program, please contact Karissa Turner.

If you would like to support Wabash General Hospital Foundation’s Medical School Scholarship Program, please contact Danielle Stevens. Donating to the WGH Foundation provides the resources necessary to offer exceptional patient care and improve the future of healthcare in our community and surrounding areas.
