Wabash General Hospital Renovates and Expands WGH Albion Medical Clinic

Wabash General Hospital is working on renovating and expanding the WGH Albion Medical Clinic. This clinic originally opened in 2018 and quickly outgrew the space due to the community's overwhelming support. The construction of a 6,486-square-foot addition will expand the existing 2,888-square-foot clinic to more than triple its current footprint to a total of 9,374 square feet. The existing clinic's interior and exterior renovation work will expand staff work areas and update the façade to provide a cohesive connection to the new addition.

WGH President & CEO Karissa Turner stated, “Dr. Justin Miller was passionate about serving his community when he approached hospital administration about opening a medical clinic in Albion back in 2018. Since then, I’ve been very impressed with the support the local community has given us along the way. When we started, I was hopeful that our first clinic structure would be a success, and I’ve been overwhelmed with the growth that clinic location has developed over the past six years. We are committed to providing quality healthcare in Albion for many years to come, and this investment in the community will show our dedication to the people that utilize our services.”

The addition will include a new patient entrance, reception area, waiting room, ten exam rooms, one procedure room, team spaces, offices, breakroom and conference room, and ancillary areas. The existing space renovation work includes relocation and expansion of the current lab, expansion of the IT space, creation of a team space to accommodate the existing five exam rooms, and additional storage. The exterior work will include relocation of the existing utilities, grading, paving, reroofing the existing building, façade improvements, and a new drop-off canopy.

WGH has been working with Architecture & Design Group, Ltd. (ADG) to design the renovations and expansion. Kieffer Brothers Construction Company was awarded the project and began construction in March.

The WGH Albion Medical continues to provide primary care services, orthopaedic, sports medicine, chiropractic care, laboratories, and x-ray services and will remain open during construction. We appreciate everyone’s patience with us as we expand to serve the community.
