Allan Kidd Awarded WGH Foundation Community Person of the Year
The Wabash General Hospital Foundation hosted the second annual Summer Soiree event on June 30, 2023. During this event, the Wabash General Hospital Foundation honors an individual that has shown exceptional dedication to Wabash General Hospital and the community throughout the past year.
Allan Kidd is a very active member of our community. Allan worked for the Mount Carmel Fire Department for 40 years and retired as fire chief. As a natural volunteer, he began volunteering at Wabash General Hospital after retiring in 2015. He is also highly involved in the Rotary Club of Mount Carmel, Knights of Columbus, and his church. Allan is a devoted husband to Clare and father to Sandy, Amy, Melissa, Cindy, and Jeff.
“I could not think of a better and more deserving person for this award. I see him in the hospital serving sometimes more than I see our own employees. He is always willing to step up. It doesn’t matter what the situation is, if it’s patient care, coming in to help drive the laboratory car, helping with Pain Clinic, or the Shuttle Service, whatever we ask of him to do, it is always a ‘yes’. Thank you, Allan. You make a big difference in our community.” - Karissa Turner, President & CEO of Wabash General Hospital.
Upon receiving this award, Allan states, “I am overwhelmed and honored to receive this award. I try to give back to my community because they have done so much for me.”
