With just over 3,500 U.S. hospitals receiving ratings from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), only 251 hospitals received the highest rating of five-stars, including Wabash General Hospital. 1,205 hospitals received four-stars, 1,414 hospitals received three-stars, 582 received two stars and 101 hospitals received the lowest ranking of one star. Only two other hospitals in the tri-state area received a five-star rating, but Wabash General was the only critical access hospital in the tri-state to receive the five-star rating.

The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing facilities that consistently achieved the 95th percentile of performance in Patient Experience. Wabash General Hospital is pleased to have achieved this award for two consecutive years.
The Leapfrog Group (Leapfrog) announced its list of Top Hospitals at its Annual Meeting earlier this month in Washington, D.C. 90 hospitals out of 1,324 who voluntarily participated in the Leapfrog Hospital Survey received the Top Hospitals Award. Wabash General Hospital in Mt. Carmel, Illinois was one of those 90 Top Hospitals Award winners.
Wabash General Hospital was recently presented the 2013 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Satisfaction. Press Ganey is a national company who for the past 29 years has used survey methods to measure patient satisfaction as a means to improve health care. This award was given to Wabash General Hospital and 226 other deserving hospitals at Press Ganey’s National Client Conference in Orlando, Florida this past November 19th. Over 10,000 Press Ganey clients are eligible to earn this award if they meet the criteria however only these 227 out of the 10,000 hospitals reached the 95th percentile for patient satisfaction for one full year. The Guardian of Excellence Award is given in recognition of these 227 hospitals reaching the 95th percentile for patient satisfaction based on data collected from May 2012 through April 2013.
