Evaluation of acute and chronic musculoskeletal and general medical conditions
Acute injuries such as strains, sprains, ligament injuries and fractures can result from activities such as: changing direction quickly, collision, or falling during play. Chronic injuries such as tendinitis, patellofemoral pain, stress fractures, and medial tibial stress syndrome develop over time from repetitive movements in sports. Our team will evaluate your injury and provide a treatment plan. We conveniently offer on-the-field and off-the field injury evaluations 7 days per week.
On-site rehabilitation and treatment
Wabash General offers on-site rehabilitation at the hospital to help you return to your optimal performance following an injury. Rehabilitation is a safe, therapeutic approach that helps athletes treat pain effectively, improve mobility, and improve overall strength to return athletes to their sport stronger than before. Each treatment plan is developed with your needs and goals in mind so that you can return to the activities you enjoy as quickly and safely as possible.
Off-season strength and conditioning program
It is important for athletes to maintain and improve strength and conditioning in the off-season in order to build better, stronger, more stable bodies to sustain the rigors of in-season competition. Our athletic trainers work with athletes in the off-season to address movement deficits, increase strength, stability, conditioning, and agility so that our athletes have a competitive edge when their next season begins.
Preventative Taping Clinics
Taping is a preventative measure that when combined with a strengthening program helps keep joints in a stable position during athletic competition to help reduce pain and aid in the recovery process. Wabash General Hospital Athletic Trainers are available to offer preventative taping for athletes on and off the field, plus we offer preventative taping clinics to teach athletes and parents specific techniques.
