Emergency Care

24/7 Medical Treatment for Serious Illnesses & Injuries

Nobody plans for a medical emergency, but when one happens, you don’t need to travel 50+ miles away to a bigger city for high-quality medical care. Our full-service emergency department at Wabash General Hospital is prepared for your emergency 24/7, ready to handle life-threatening illness and severe injuries. Our average time from door to medical screening is one minute.

Our emergency room patients are cared for by physicians, advanced practitioners, and registered nurses who have completed a variety of certifications, including CPR, advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, and rural trauma care. When you come to the Emergency Department, your condition will be assessed by a triage nurse who will determine the severity of your injury or illness in order to prioritize treatment for patients needing treatment first. If you are not admitted to the hospital, your physician will provide you follow-up aftercare instructions.
